I don’t really know what I am all about, or what the world is all about. At this stage I am about contribution and healing. My desire is for everyone to know they are valuable and worthy and to inspire them to be the best healthy version of themselves. I do this by guiding you into a healthy lifestyle, and teaching you to be loving, compassionate and nonjudgmental with yourself. I seek to liberate you from the habits and beliefs that are creating unhappiness, lack of fulfillment and stagnation in your life. I teach you skills to create serenity in your world, and empowerment.
What you may want to know about me is that in my early life I felt more BROKEN than WHOLE. I grew up in a dysfunctional home of extreme criticism, abandonment and alcoholic parents. This was paramount in my belief that I was unwanted, unworthy and unloved. I wanted to feel loved, accepted and important in my world, and thus created the path of perfection. I would EARN love, acceptance and worth.
I went full steam ahead into the self-help generation health craze >>> Transcendental Meditation, running, aerobics, EMDR, therapy. I read all the books; did all the right things. I looked like I was all together, not hanging from the thread of insecurity that kept me afloat.
I continue my pursuit of personal growth and excellence, not because I need it, but because I want it. I also want others to heal at their very core. Endeavors you may want to know about me: TM Practitioner, AS Chemical Dependency, Certified Aerobics Instructor, Licensed Cosmetologist, Reiki 2 Practitioner, Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher (CKYT), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), currently a student in a 3 year program for Somatic Experiencing (SETI) Professional Trauma Program through www.traumahealing.com, a spritual seeker, a 20 year follower of Deepak Chopra and most importantly, the school of hard knocks.
"Prior to taking yoga through Creating Serenity, I was having trouble keeping my stress levels under control. This exacerbated a medical condition I have that is negatively impacted by stress. I was also weak from being unwell for an extended time. My doctor suggested yoga as a way to learn to relax and decrease my stress levels, as well as incorporate a gentle exercise routine.
The yoga sessions I have attended through Creating Serenity have helped me significantly by increasing my quality of life. During the sessions I feel challenged but not pushed beyond my limits. There is an emphasis on having compassion for yourself and others, and letting go of judgement. I have learned techniques that help me to relax and let go of my stress. I am feeling stronger and have regained muscle strength and flexibility. To say that I am pleased with the results would be an understatement! I highly recommend Creating Serenity.
